In the late 1980s, a cruel maniac operates in Vladivostok: within two weeks he kills five women. All of them are aged between twenty and thirty-five, and on their bodies there were strange cut-out signs resembling those of sects, while their entrails were removed. Major of the police Dmitry Merkulov leads the investigation and understands he’s dealing with a series of murders, but he doesn’t believe the sect is behind it. He thinks the killings are committed by a lone individual with the skills of a surgeon. The latest similar crime forces the major to take decisive action. He decides to catch the maniac using a bait and asks his colleague to play the role in a deadly plan.
