Egor is an ordinary programmer from Yekaterinburg. After a prolonged night shift, he wakes up. The apartment looks uninhabited; outside the window is an overgrown yard; among aging buildings, packs of vicious dogs roam. But the main oddity is this: after some inexplicable catastrophe, the streets are littered not only with human bones polished by time, but also with perfectly preserved bodies.
After discovering other people who have woken up, Egor realizes that in his hometown people awaken gradually, according to a logic that no one can understand. He can’t live by the rules that former officials and bandits start imposing. Egor organizes his own community, basing it on an unusual principle: preserving the bodies of those who haven’t woken up yet.
Egor and his faithful friends will have to defend their new home and the small world in which they try to revive life. They’ll have to fight not only aggressive neighbors and wild animals, but also strange dark beings emerging from the walls of amber-like light.
Post-bioseptic Yekaterinburg will make you shudder…
