The novel was nominated for several prestigious literary awards, such as the “Locus” for best fantasy novel of the year, the British Fantasy Award, Grand Prix de L’Imaginaire, Prix Jacques Chambon, and the Republic of Consciousness Prize. The story unfolds in Mordoe, a city where the god is dead and his body is hidden in the catacombs. The main character, Nathan Trivz, lives in the slums with his parents until his mother sells him to the mysterious Lord of Mordoe. Once under the Lord’s control, Nathan discovers he has a power capable of destroying everything the Lord built. Now he must uncover ancient secrets and face betrayal in order to find the place where the god was killed—and bring back light forever.
