This is a story about people who, despite the hardships of immigrant life, reached the heights of their creative work and left their names in the history of world cinema. Louis Bárt Meyer (1884–1957) was one of the earliest film producers, the creator of the Hollywood studio “Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer” (MGM). Meyer founded the American Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences, which annually awards the most prestigious prize, the “Oscar,” for which Louis Meyer also bears credit for establishing. Meyer is called the creator of the constellation of film stars of the era of the “Golden Age of Hollywood.”
