Sin Kyeong-suk’s story is an exploration of the labyrinths of the human soul, where the fates of three people intertwine. Their quiet voices from the past and their endless searches for themselves become important elements in this narrative structure.

Psychological depth, powerful emotions, and philosophical reflections on life and memory form the foundation of the story. Three lives—two male and one female—intersect and diverge over time.

The narration is a journey into the world of the human psyche, where silence turns out to be more significant than words, and memories become ghostly images. Forgotten promises turn into shadows that haunt the night. What makes one return again and again to the past filled with pain? How far can you go from memories if they are firmly rooted within us? There are no simple answers—only the realization that some stories don’t end; they turn into deep sorrow.

Sin Kyeong-suk, one of South Korea’s most influential contemporary writers, has received numerous literary awards. In 2012 she became the first woman to win the Man Asian Literary Prize for “Please Take Care of My Mother.” Her works are known for a deep understanding of the psychology of characters and a masterful depiction of human emotions.
