After searching for monsters in the dark for a long time, you can with horror discover that they’ve been walking in your footsteps for ages. Svein overplayed his hand, misjudged his strength, and didn’t notice the moment when he turned— from hunter—into prey.

But for him, not everything is lost yet. Once his enemies, now they are his brothers-in-arms, dragging a temporal mercenary into their game. Surrounded by unscrupulous scoundrels, will he manage to preserve the remaining part of his own soul? Or will he accept the rules of a cruel world, finally getting rid of naive illusions?

Balancing on the edge of an ultratitain blade, Svein will face different people. Some are driven by the thirst for profit and lust, others by bright aspirations to make the world better—but more often it’s something in between. And only his decisions will determine who he will turn out to be in the end: a hero or a monster…
