The administrator of an online store, Alexey Levin, is being hunted by a secret organization with the all-too-banal name “The Organization.” Levin wants to be destroyed by entities that don’t agree with the emergence of a new caste—“chippers”: people equipped with augmented-reality devices, because that opens unlimited possibilities for manipulation, career growth, and earnings—turning “clean” organisms into a second-rate class.
