In spring 1907, Lyovkov was sent by his superiors for an inspection to Rostov-on-Don. But hardly had the detective begun reviewing the local police when tragedy struck: bandits robbed a modest accountant, gouged out his eyes, and the man, stricken with grief, took his own life… The local police decided to quietly drop the case. However, Lyovkov sets out to find the killers—and once again, his instincts do not let him down! He begins the investigation and tracks down the power brokers of the criminal underworld who keep all of Rostov in fear.
