A double murder on Bolshoy Prospekt in Vasilievsky Island. In the apartment, the bodies of baroness Kotts and her maid are found. During inspection of the crime scene, it turns out that a diamond brooch—an imperial gift—has been stolen from the apartment. Greed, illicit connections, or a secret pregnancy? Lipov has to understand what became the motive for the crime. Meanwhile, the beautiful SR beauty, intoxicated by her own impunity, takes a policeman hostage right in his own home.
