A bird island for Dilly—her home and an inexhaustible source of inspiration that made her a famous artist. But it’s not time to rest on her laurels, especially after everything she’s been through and when it’s so easy to give up. Especially when the man she loved turned out to be a fraud who only wanted to get his hands on her fortune.
Dilly has no intention of surrendering. She keeps painting, gives painting lessons to local residents, and comes up with new ideas for exhibitions. And then fate tosses her a chance: at an auction, a historic building is put up for sale—the legendary lighthouse of the Bird Island, important to both the islanders and her family. Dilly realizes she has to fight for it.
But everything turns out to be more complicated. The moment Dilly almost manages to let go of old feelings, her first love returns to the island—Max, her former teacher, once unattainable, and now… it seems the attraction between them is mutual, and it’s hard for Dilly to believe what’s happening: a man of her dreams, her beloved work, and a lighthouse that holds part of her family’s history. Her life seems to be just one step away from the ideal—if nothing gets in the way of taking that step.
