In 1984, a worldwide nuclear war breaks out. Climate changes occur: snow falls in California, tornadoes strike Russia. Most of the population of the United States is destroyed. By 2047, the Japanese have placed America under quarantine. They patrol the sea coast, while their satellites watch from orbit to prevent cities from establishing connections with one another, bomb bridges and roads.
Residents of San Diego try to organize resistance, killing Japanese who land on the shore illegally. People in the Onofre Valley established contact with San Diego’s population, and then together attempted to break the Japanese landing in the Orange County district.
