The Girl Who Played with Fire

Late in the evening, a journalist and his girlfriend are shot in their apartment—people who were studying trafficking routes to Sweden for sex slaves from Eastern Europe. Among the clients of this disreputable business, representatives of powerful government structures are spotted. It seems clear which circles benefited from the death of this couple.

Mikael Blomkvist, who begins his own investigation into the death of his colleagues and friends, suddenly learns that the murder is suspected to involve his old acquaintance Lisbeth Salander—the strangest girl in the world, who loves to play with fire—for instance, pouring gasoline on it. All across Sweden, a hunt is on for the “murdering psychopath,” but Lisbeth isn’t afraid to challenge anyone—both the mafia, and the public institutions, and even death itself.
