The Wooden Sword: Seeking the Path

Eleanora Ratkevich is a Russian-language writer from Latvia who became known thanks to the fantasy novel cycle “The Wooden Sword.” The first book of the cycle, published in 2007, received the literary prize “Big Zilant.” We present this book in audio format. The main hero, Kenet, wants to become a mage, but they won’t take him as a student. Then he decides to master the martial arts—but what kind of warrior is allowed to do anything if even touching metal is forbidden? Kenet chooses a wooden sword as his weapon. It is what defines the hero’s path: the path where a warrior’s road and a mage’s calling merge into one, a road where only he can confront evil—the challenge to which no one else is capable.
