The Day of the Fallen Night

Samantha Shannon takes readers back into the world of “The Bone Season: The Sanctum of the Orange Tree,” telling the story of this world’s past. Five centuries ago, Princess Cleolinda defeated the Nameless One—a red serpent that brought a great plague in its wake. The outcome of the battle was decided by an orange tree with magical fruit. But the princess knew the serpent would return, so she created a sanctuary, raising warriors to fight the horror. Now Glorian, heir to the kingdom of Inys, longs for power, while the daughter of a priestess dreams of seeing dragons. When the eruption of the Mountain of Terror begins, these women must unite to protect humanity.
