Devil from Chertanovo
10 hrs. 48 min.
After my death, my life became noticeably richer. In the lower drawer of the kitchen unit, the spirit of the forest snores—an alcoholic in suffering. Over the nine-story buildings at night, shadows glide, as big as a car, and in the basement of my parents’ house, a festering sore of evil ripens—ready at any second to spawn swarms of monsters.
And to make things worse, there’s an overdue loan payment, because of which my sister, along with her family, will be thrown out onto the street. Plus there’s that pretty salesclerk—whose boss is a real devil with black fur and horns. What can you say? It’s fun. By day, work like a horse to pay off the loan, and when it gets dark, hide so you don’t catch sight of some toothy nastiness.
