Psychologist-forensic specialist Miri Fox is sent to the other side of the Earth when her now-former employer, the psychic detective Quentin Black, calls her from a police station in Bangkok and asks for help.

She arrives and finds Black working undercover in a gang of local criminals, determined to find out who of them is killing orphan street children and ritualistically burning them in Buddhist temples. But Black is not the only one interested in these crimes, and soon his investigation attracts the attention of local sex traders—as well as of a criminal syndicate from Russia, which is far from pleased with his involvement.
