The novel continues the story told in "The City of Shamans," but the plot is a self-contained narrative. The main hero, Ivan Matveevich Suzdalyev, having become a saivugadche—a guide into the world of spirits and having lost touch with reality—somehow manages to hide from the shaman and the witch in a secret otherworldly city. However, there is no way out. Now the hero makes a deal with a titan who is ready to return him to real life in exchange for completing a difficult task. The hero will have to kill three Black Kings living in different worlds. And when he goes to each world, Ivan Matveevich finds himself in a new body and first of all must focus not on planning an assassination, but on surviving.
The first "arrival" ended with nothing. The hero managed to change the course of history in the world he had been sent to—but not the way those who sent him planned—in the wrong direction.
In the new episode, a space ship with soldiers crashes on a wild planet. The hero is captured by the natives. He manages to get along with them and even become related to them. But the task set by the titan—to destroy the Black King—doesn’t let him forget. Who is the Black King to him? As always, the revelation will be unexpected. Want the details?
