The traveling theater of Karabas is touring different countries with a new production. The wooden boy Buratino becomes the troupe’s main star: his acts are met with triumph in old castles, ancient amphitheaters, and on the squares of Europe’s capitals. It seems that ahead are nothing but applause and shouts of “bravo.” But behind the colorful theater wagons lurks a mysterious shadow. Karabas, drunk on success, does not see the looming threat.
