Travel aboard starships. Highly technological civilizations and magic. Everything has mixed together in this strange, mesmerizing world—a world over which a dead sun burns, and where life itself is fueled by the energy of darkness and death. Stepan comes face to face with its incredible inhabitants: people who seem as if they don’t belong in the familiar reality. Among them he finds friends, but in doing so he also makes dangerous enemies—those whom people here are accustomed to consider the masters of this world. However, it soon becomes clear: their power is merely a carefully constructed curtain. Now Stepan tries to understand who hides behind the backs of mighty messengers and their ruthless rulers. After all, the solution may give him a chance to get out beyond the boundaries of yet another trap—the dangerous and illusory Dark World.
