An Abyss in Your Eyes

— Let me go! You have no right to keep me here! — I shout with anger, but I try not to look into those black, animal eyes.

— No. You’ll stay here as long as I want. I’m tired of chasing after you! — he cuts me off, tilting his head as he studies me like a product in a store.

I’m still shaking—only now from anger. Fire burns in my chest, and there’s nothing to breathe.

And this arrogant bastard keeps staring and takes a deep drag from a hookah, blowing a cloud of smoke in my direction.

— Enough, Dasha. You’ve played your part! My patience is over!
