Anatoly Fyodorovich Drozdov is a well-known science-fiction writer working in various genres, but most often in the genre of alternative history with elements of “time-travel/incarnation” (popadanchestvo): the characters get either into another world or into a different historical era. We present his novel “The Wayward Prince” in audio format—this is the second book of the duology “The Master of the Dragon.”
The main character is an orphan. In our world, life didn’t pamper him: even the adoptive father didn’t turn out well—he dies, and the young man ends up in another world that resembles legendary Ancient Rus’. This seemingly fairy-tale world is, in fact, deadly dangerous, and the hero—here he receives the name Nekras—must survive and find his place. Help comes from secret knowledge passed on to him by a wise old man.
Now the hero of the duology is a prince and the ruler of a huge winged creature. Naturally, bad-wishers show up at once. But during the invasion of the Polovtsians, it is Nekras who is destined to become the leader among the other princes of Rus’. Details are in the audiobook.
