I have lived thousands of lives. Some of them were vivid, others completely ordinary. In some worlds there was magic; in others, there wasn’t. I was a great commander, a mighty archmage, a pirate, an office clerk, a king. I’ve been many things. And it’s all because I’m a BUG—an error in the precisely tuned mechanisms of the Great System. I’m part of the System, so I can use its gifts, but at the same time I’m outside it, meaning I don’t have to follow its laws. They’re hunting me and trying to erase me. Well then, let them try!
