The full embodiment of the Dark god—Shig-Haorah’s—creates a serious threat both for people and for other bright races. Therefore, the emperor sends Troy, Duke of Arvendale, on a diplomatic mission to the Bright Forest and the throne beneath the hill. Troy understood perfectly well that negotiating with dwarves—and even more so with elves—would not be easy. The rulers of each race considered themselves wiser, more insightful, and more cunning than the others. And even the common danger could not make them forget their old grievances.
