Ayra begins her life almost from a blank slate, caused by a certain tragedy in the past and complete loss of memory. Once she appears in the path of an accidental caravan, the girl—like a newborn infant—casts a confused look around at the life teeming all around her and cannot shake the feeling that this life is steadily passing her by.
She feels like a stranger here. She can’t see where she belongs. She is so low on the social ladder that even looking up becomes frightening.
