This book is about quiet heroes who don’t back down simply because that’s not how they know how to do it.

They choke, fall from heights, vanish in blizzards, burn out in service. Anyone else would have long since survived no more, but these people (and not only people) are the most recognizable Oleg Divov characters. Not a drop like Superman; even in complete hopelessness they somehow manage to find an unexpected way out and obtain unexpected means.

The robot has a shovel. The cosmonaut has pliers and a screwdriver. The general has a trash can with a ration for a bear. And there’s also a megaphone to direct a plane with a shout from the deck of a submarine. If a maniac has latched onto a stripper, a motorcycle spark plug will save the day. The weapon of a humanitarian technologist is a kind word and a pistol. And the space surveyors simply can’t do without Katsman.
