A new anthology of the famous “Heresy of Horus” series, released for the first time in audio format!
The action in Warhammer 40k takes place in the 41st millennium (hence the number 40,000). At this time, the Imperium of Mankind has spread across the vast reaches of the Galaxy—an enormous stellar state. The Imperium consists of countless inhabited worlds. More than a million are known, but even that number is nothing in the scale of a Galaxy stretching 90,000 light-years long, 15,000 light-years wide, and containing four billion stars. In Warhammer 40,000 new worlds are constantly being discovered, while old ones may fall under the rule of alien powers, other races, or simply try to break away from the Imperium. The Imperium is a continuously evolving organism. However, for the time being (the end of the 41st millennium) it can rather be called a decadent state, because numerous wars, invasions by other races, and the influence of Chaos have pushed the human state back from its positions. Yet people live on and continue to believe that the Imperium will rise again and drive the enemies back—and then destroy them altogether.
