After a long and dangerous battle with Irmina in the cellars of Alexandria, Katya Miroshkina has only one thing left to do: say goodbye to her friends and go to her mother. Everything is ready—there’s a staff and the Alatyr—but the last journey is abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of an unusual guest. Ayakchaa, a girl from the Far North, and Katya meet face to face in endless underground labyrinths. Their goals are different: the Siberian shaman’s granddaughter must find Maara’s Spear, while the daughter of Makosh and Veles must return home. But only together can they achieve what they want and be with their loved ones again.

The fates of Katya and Ayakchaa are now intertwined. The girls face incredibly difficult trials: traveling through time and space, rescuing their loyal friends from the jungars’ captivity, searching for the cherished artifact of the goddess of death, uncovering a deadly conspiracy, and a new battle with Irmina—the witch who has returned from the other world. She doesn’t want to let Katya and her family go; she desperately longs for their death, and the search for Maara’s Spear only fuels her rage and hatred. Will the girls find the strength to survive yet another clash with Irmina and return to their own people?
