The Warsaw Republic is trying to maintain neutrality, balancing between two powers: Germany and Russia. However, the young republic has growing problems. In the enclaves, direct envoys of the Cursed appear, and the Word of Power that once gave the Poles victory is already known to all sides of the conflict.

Count Samarin and Baron Rudnitsky are drawn into a whirlpool of political and social intrigues—and this isn’t the only danger, not even the biggest one. Someone has sworn to kill them. And all those like them. Moreover, in both Berlin and Saint Petersburg, the belief is strengthening that it’s time to attack. The Polish army is preparing for the final confrontation, but the command understands that no strategy will allow them to defeat an enemy with a twentyfold numerical advantage.
