1395. After the victory at Kulikovo Field, more than a dozen years passed, and the fate of the Russian Land is once again hanging by a thread. Having crushed the Golden Horde and conquered Crimea, the formidable Tamerlane marches on Moscow.
The principality of Yelets has already fallen. Timur’s invincible army storms the border city. Learning about the invasion, Prince Vasily, son of Dmitry Donskoy, rides out to meet the “Iron Cripple,” to take the battle. But the forces are too unequal: the five-thousand-strong Moscow host against the many-thousand horde of Timur.
