In the center of Vilnius, there are exactly one hundred and eight streets. And if you walk them long enough—almost every day for several years—on some of those streets you can witness astonishing stories. And on some—you can even become one of the participants.
In such cases, I know, people usually say: such stories could, of course, happen anywhere. But we won’t make that claim—why deceive people? No, these stories could happen only here in Vilnius. And only while strolling the streets of the Old Town could you first hear them, and then write them down.
This is the third volume of “Tales of Old Vilnius.” And there is still much ahead.
21 stories, none of them published earlier. Each story is devoted to one Vilnius street.
About 50 illustrations—photos of the city taken by the writer.
A peculiar lyrical guide to Vilnius, like “The Biography of Istanbul,” only about Vilnius.
