Demons, from age to age, break into people’s souls from a gray abyss where nothing has ever happened and never will… Exorcists and executioners save the souls of the possessed with prayers and fire, driving the unclean back into the emptiness that gave birth to them…

So it was from the very creation of the world, and so it must be until the end of its days. But then appeared a man who could command demons as if they were his own vassals. And a new heresy spread like plague through the cities. And the possessed rose beneath the banners of a monarch who had apostatized in faith. Old covenants and oaths were forgotten, and in the air smelled of a great war. A war in which poison and daggers will matter no less than armies and fortress walls. A war of everyone against everyone.
