The young and reckless Baron Koris Van Isser, having killed the royal bastard in a drunken brawl, ended up in court faced with a simple choice: execution or the stripping of his title and an indefinite exile to the Wild Lands. Naturally, he chose exile. Even with the terrible reputation of those places, hope always remains.
With Koris set off the families of those bound to the young lord by a blood oath. But after an unsuccessful hunt for a boar and the wounds he received, Koris himself remembers nothing of his past, and any attempt to recall it turns into terrible headaches. Yet this isn’t the only oddity. All his companions noticed changes in his character, reasoning, and actions—and they like these changes.
So who is Koris really? Whom has he crossed, and what danger does he pose to an unknown and powerful enemy? Those questions will have to wait. For now he must reach the place of exile and try to survive in the Wild Lands.
