Dan Lebel is a pseudonym of a science-fiction writer working in the popular LitRPG genre. We present the audio format’s fourth audiobook from the author’s cycle “Chronicles of the Spheres.”
Arthur Cruz didn’t get lucky: he returns from army service without a leg, and he doesn’t have money for a full prosthesis. The only thing he can afford is to buy doses of nanites—microscopic devices. Friends help Arthur get a job as a tester of a game in a virtual reality world where testers of virtual space also get nanites injected. It turns out that a conflict between nanomachines gives the player full compatibility with the virtual world—which, in turn, opens many doors for him. However, Arthur wants to run his own game, not be used for the corporation’s interests. And the game itself surprises him by adding distinctive changes to his character class.
In the fourth book, the hero completes his long journey back to his native empire. But how welcome is he there? Local nobility and clans are weaving intrigues against Arthur Cruz. So his main goal remains survival. And then… then it will be time to put far-reaching plans into action to increase power—both state power and personal power. Details are in the audiobook.
