The Road to Calvary: Sisters

The trilogy "Walking Through Torments" is one of A. N. Tolstoy’s most significant works, in which the author shows the life of our country on the threshold of two eras. The lives of the main characters—the sisters Katya and Dasha Bulavins, and their lovers Ivan Telegin and Vadim Roshchin—fell on a difficult time of revolutionary upheavals and civil war. But in the first book of the trilogy, titled "The Sisters", the world of the sisters and the world of historical life exist separately; they have not yet been joined.
