Shikotan Island, December 1956—Soviet border outpost. A visit from a cosmic guest from the depths of the universe triggers a long chain of horrible and frightening events.

To make sense of the situation, high command arrives from Moscow: General of the Army Pyotr Ilyich Koshevar and his assistants. Right after arriving on the island it becomes clear that something unimaginable and terrible has happened here—something that cannot be explained logically. The border guards have mutated into deadly creatures—necromorphs, and on the island has settled a bloodthirsty, immortal being that knows no mercy.

Using fragments of human bodies, it creates obedient servants ready to follow any orders of its master. How is all this connected to the guest from outer space—and what the general Koshevar must learn, while also experiencing the horror of a cornered victim hunted by a relentless predator—will be revealed.

In 2013, Novosibirsk. Journalist Anton Sergeev lives calmly in his native city and writes a report about a mysterious incident on Shikotan, not even suspecting that soon the world will be shaken by a deadly epidemic—whose name is necromorphs. Sweeping away any obstacles, they are the ones who turn others into their kind.
