A plea for help—the most elaborate trap…
Elli Parker became an internet sensation thanks to the fact that, from time to time, she did good deeds—suddenly and in front of her audience. To her followers, her life seemed flawless, until her husband betrayed her—with her very best friend. The picture of perfect happiness crumbled, but millions continued to watch Elli: some offered support, others waited for her to fall apart again.
One day, on the subway, Elli notices a stranger: he’s on crutches with a yellow suitcase. He looks confused and helpless—and Elli does what she does best: she helps.
That’s exactly what he was after.
One single kind gesture sets off a chain of events that can no longer be stopped and pulls Elli into a nightmare far worse than anything she could have imagined.
Her only hope is a well-known attorney and former con artist, Eddie Flynn. He must take on a case where everything turns out not to be what it seems—and face a cruel, inventive mind pulling strings from the shadows. Everyone is put in danger—including Eddie himself and his family…
