Boris Akunin called his novel “Aristonomy” “the first serious novel of my life.” He worked on “Aristonomy” for several years and, by his own admission, the political events that took place in Russia in late 2011 and early 2012 helped him finish it.
The novel takes place in Russia during the Revolution and the Civil War. As in all the author’s other works, an engaging and gripping plot awaits you, but this time the spiritual quests of the characters, their reflections, and the role of the intelligentsia in Russia’s fate, on revolution and love, come to the fore.
