"The Tsar’s Carousel" is a panoramic and historically accurate portrayal of Russian noble society in the period before the war of 1812, as well as during the war itself. This is a novel of an era, a novel "about Time," when the Napoleonic "storm" draws near Russia’s borders—and only one commander can stand against it: Kutuzov, who is absolutely not a "feeble old man." He is full of strength, capable of fighting on two fronts—not only against Napoleon, but also against all of Alexander I’s associates who do not understand what is beneficial to the army. And yet the question remains: will the battle be won on both fronts?
The novel "The Tsar’s Carousel," previously published in major literary journals and already earned the recognition of readers, is being released in a hardcover edition for the first time.
This book, with the subtitle "The War with Kutuzov," is the second part of the novel.
