Description
Robert Ibatullin (born December 11, 1974) is a Russian science-fiction writer, scholar, and educator.

The novel «The Rose and the Worm» was warmly received by lovers of science fiction who were hungry for new books in their beloved genre. For this book, in 2016 the author was awarded the International Arcady and Boris Strugatsky Literary Prize in the field of science fiction.

In Robert Ibatullin’s novel, a post-apocalyptic future of humankind is presented. In 2295, Earth was devastated by space conquerors who arrived from the star system observed in the constellation of the Eagle. In Latin, eagle is aquila, and the unknown aliens were called Aquilians. A high civilization survived only in extraterrestrial colonies, and the few Earthlings who survived in bunkers lead a barbaric way of life. Isolated colonies repelled the Aquilians’ strike and are confident they won. Stuck in political squabbles, they fight for dominance in the Solar System and don’t notice the main thing: the enemy hasn’t been destroyed and is preparing a new invasion.
The book’s heroes—a commander’s daughter of the CosmoFleet, a boy from a “barbarian” settlement on Earth, and an operative of the special services of one of the space colonies—are drawn into the whirl of events capable of overturning all established ideas about post-Earth civilization… Are you intrigued?
