Description
1999. A group of officers overthrows the President… A slightly fantastic tale about how three majors, using extremely politically incorrect methods, restored order in Russia and its surroundings.

On the command bridge of the “Peter the Great,” from the commanding officer of the ship to the last sailor, everyone kept staring at the tall man in a dress uniform of a lieutenant general. Lowering his binoculars, the general ordered: “Set the radio to the NATO command frequency. Keep the course and speed the same.” After that he took the microphone and, without taking his eyes off the approaching line of enemy ships, began dictating evenly: “Sazontev calls ‘Hawk,’ Admiral White, Admiral White…”

High above both fleets, over the open door of the helicopter, CNN reporter Jon Wright shouted into the microphone, trying to drown out the roar of the rotors and the wind noise: “…so everything is heading toward the climax! In a few minutes we’ll know whether this day will be the last in human history—or whether it will drag on a little longer on our little Earth…”
