"Nebutori" is a novel by Sergey Panchenko, the first book in the cycle "Mshel." Genre: post-apocalypse, action science fiction.

Mshel in Old Slavic means greed, profit, a thing. This concept somehow brings together the meaning of life of many of us. The world was created not for us to worship things, to desire profit above all, and to act out of selfish motives. The "pill" for that became a microorganism called Nebutori, named after the Japanese demon of gluttony. Artificially created, it had an insatiable appetite for plastic—which makes up a huge part of our surroundings. Once the microorganism got out of control, it caused the first epidemic of things since the creation of humankind.
