In September 1985, the young Yoon Lindkvist—the future writer—arrives in Stockholm. He wants to become a magician and rents an apartment in a dilapidated building near the Brunkebärg tunnel. Before long, he realizes something strange is happening in his new home: he’s constantly getting calls asking about the same person, music is impossible to listen to in the apartment because sometimes ominous sounds come from the tape recorder, birds fall from the sky, neighbors behave suspiciously, and in the tunnel it’s unpleasant to walk—as if something alive is watching passersby from the walls. And soon Yoon will, against his will, come face to face with another world: a boundless green plain and a sky without the sun, from where real monsters come.
