The Star Diaries of Ijon Tichy: Journey 20

“The Star Diaries of Ijon Tichy” is a cycle of science-fiction stories by Stanisław Lem, devoted to the adventures of a fictional hero—an astronaut and space researcher, Ijon Tichy. Written with Lem’s characteristic humor, often grotesque, sometimes shifting into bitter irony, they include elements that parody science-fiction clichés while also tackling serious questions of science, sociology, and philosophy. The stories in the cycle either take the form of diaries describing Ijon Tichy’s impressions during his journeys, or the form of his own recollections of events that have occurred. (Viki)

Additional information: Each “Journey” can be considered a separate complete work. I, of course, do all the “Diaries...”, and also the “Recollections of Ijon Tichy,” in which—at least in my opinion—there is less humor left, and the grotesque… with elements of horror—more and more.
