Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu preached a perfect theistic concept presented in the “Shrimad-Bhagavatam.” He revealed the essence of this great sacred scripture through His life and through His teachings. In the “Shrimad-Bhagavatam,” the highest achievement of theism is defined not by consciousness, not by knowing reality through reason, and not by teachings about the universe, but by the search for love, beauty, and harmony—what is defined by the Sanskrit term “rasa.”
Sri Chaitanya taught that joy appears most strongly in relationships with the Lord, while the greatest pain is separation from Him. Yet He went on to reveal the highest principle: the pain of separation from Krishna is infinitely stronger than the bliss of union with Him. Love for Krishna means we must give up ideas of ourselves as those who enjoy, and accept that the Lord is the center of everything—we will have to “die in order to live.” And this new life is like nectar.
“The Golden Volcano of Divine Love” in the first part tells about the extraordinary life of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and in the second part reveals the essence of His eight principal teachings. The book is meant for those who sincerely and seriously follow the idea of selfless service to God, as well as for those who already know it and want to understand the heart of Gaudiya Vaishnavism more deeply.
