Arthur Benjamin Reeve (1880–1936) was an American writer who gained fame through classic detective novels. His books about detective Craig Kennedy were the most popular. Many other thrilling stories also came from Reeve’s pen. In addition, he tried his hand successfully as a screenwriter for cinema. In the book we present, a group of treasure seekers strives to find the Gold of the Gods—an ancient hoard hidden in Peru. The searches go on despite a sinister prophecy promising death to anyone who tries to find the treasure. For their purposes, the companions hire a scientist—a museum employee—and he brings back from his trip to Peru an ancient dagger, with the help of which the seekers hope to shed light on the mystery of the hoard.
