Summer 1960. Reno, Nevada. The legendary “Mapes” Hotel has become the “headquarters” for the film crew of the Hollywood movie “The Misfits.”
A young maid, Pauline, is asked to replace a sick colleague and clean room 614—the hotel’s most luxurious suite. Although she’s been told there are no guests in the room, a naked woman appears before her in a half-unconscious state.
It is Mrs. Miller—also known as Marilyn Monroe—worn out by grueling shooting in the scorching desert, drinking, antidepressants, and the collapse of her five-year marriage with the famous playwright. A chance encounter with her will change the life of a young maid forever.
This touching story of an unexpected friendship between a Hollywood star and a hotel maid reveals new facets of Marilyn’s character, showing her fragility, vulnerability, humanity, and endless loneliness.
