The Golden Cup

A lost person can find a home in a loving heart. In a communal Soviet apartment, the everyday grey of family life is brightened by a grandmother—a mysterious old Gypsy woman. Because of her, bright emotions come into the family’s life: love, joy, and admiration. The magic of the golden cup immerses us in the life of the camp. We warm ourselves by a huge bonfire, and then dance around with restless children. Sometimes we cry, and sometimes we fall silent halfway and mourn.

The heroes of these stories remind us of a truth that’s easy to forget in routine: we are all the same, and we all want love. Despite different viewpoints, customs, and traditions, at heart we still want the very same thing.
