The story “Winter” was first published in the magazine “Science and Religion” in 1986; since then it has been repeatedly republished in collections and anthologies of science fiction.

The only person to survive the atomic conflict forgives Christ, who failed to save humankind and returned to an Earth already burned to ashes.
