Description
Yukio Mishima is one of the most famous and widely read Japanese authors in the world. He became renowned not only for books of the most diverse genres—novels, plays, short stories, essays—but also for his provocative biography and death: he committed seppuku after a failed attempt at a monarchist coup.

In the novel "Life for Sale," a young advertising agency employee, Hanyo Yamada, having survived an unsuccessful suicide attempt, publishes an advertisement in the newspaper: "For sale: my life. You may use me as you see fit. Confidentiality is guaranteed." And those who are interested turn out to be the most unexpected: a jealous husband, a nymphomaniac heiress, the intelligence service at the embassy, which can’t make sense of the strange story involving poisoned carrots, and even the very real vampire.

So instead of simply bringing matters to a calm close, Hanyo Yamada finds himself drawn into an intrigue of world-shaking proportions…
