Joe Talbert, a college student, is assigned to interview an elderly man and write his autobiography. At the nursing home, Joe is offered a chance to talk with Carl Iverson, who is dying of cancer. Years ago, Carl was convicted of rape and the murder of a young girl and spent thirty years in prison. Joe decides to meet with Carl, who promises to tell the truth about what really happened many years ago. And the more Joe learns about Carl’s life, the harder it becomes for him to believe that such a person could commit a brutal crime.
As Joe and his friend Layla go through materials from the trial and Carl’s diary, the stakes become higher and higher, and danger waits for them at every step. Will Joe manage to find out who actually committed the crime?
